Honestly I really think it depends on what you are trying to do...
As a Melee swordsman for example I really think you are better off going W/Rt because you'll have less energy (wont be needed as much) and more armor.
However if you want to be a spellcaster and use spells from the back and just have a Warrior as a secondary for support you should go Rt/W for the Energy bonus's...
So give some idea on what you want to do but based on your original post I would think you want to go Melee... in which case W/Rt is a much better option.

Yes, it is plausable to have an effective Rit/W.
It sounds like you want to go into battle (as you wanted to use weapon spells).
Which is better, Armor or Energy? If you plan to do more damage with skills, than the weapon, then use rit/w. The reason is you don't need strength to wield a weapon, you also don't need to have max damage for your weapon do do some damage. A Warrior's skill requires mainly adrenaline, but a ritualist's spells require energy. If you plan to use weapon spells mostly, then Rit/W is your choice. If you chose to be more Warrior than Rit (using Weapon Spells as just an added boost), then use W/Rit. Weapon spells don't always last long enough for you to recouperate your energy back as a warrior.
I can't remember if a character can only have 1 weapon spell, or can they have multiple weapon spells.

I was thinking to have a combat Rit.
I know warriors would have more armor and the damage reduction but I've already got one and I want to make a Rit so I was wondering if it were possible to make a combat one since I have a Warrior already.
I was thinking to somehow incorporate:
Brutal Weapon - Weapon Spell. Give target ally a Brutal Weapon for 5...17 seconds. The bearer's weapon strikes for +5...13 damage as long as the bearer is under no Enchantments.
I'm not sure how effective this spell is but considering when its at a higher level it's duration is longer than the recharge time.
Also having more energy was why I was wondering if that would work. Since some skills for Warrior do require energy I could always use it a bit more. Not sure on the full skill set up though.

Honestly, if you want to go into battle and "Act" like a Warrior, you may as well be a warrior.
As Pick Me explained it really depends on what you want to do. If you are running a full bar with 6 Warrior skills, 1 Ritualist skill that requires 5 energy to use and a res, its foolish to go Rt/W as your choice. You are MUCH better off going with Rt/W. But if you are using things like Ancestral Rage, Weapons, etc, to get up close, do the damage... kinda like a Sui bomber, then Rt/W could be viable. Really depends on what you want to do. What is your skillbar you want to run? Look at the skills you have and decide what is best for you. Both are viable but VERY VERY different.... and you cannot focus on one side and use the other.... meaning you cannot focus on weapon skills and adrienline and play Rit primary. Vice versa, it doesn't make sense to have a bunch of good weapons skills/Channel magic, etc and go Warrior primary.
Oh and to answer your question, 1 weapon up at a time (Im almost positive but check guildwiki to be sure).

Weapon Skills
The best ones to use:
Guided Weapon - ignores blindness and your attacks cannot be evaded or blocked
Brutal Weapon - add damage, as long as bearer is under no enchantments
Wailing Weapon - interupts attacking foes
Splinter Weapon - Next successful attack deals damage to all adjacent foes
Nightmare Weapon - next successful attack steals life
Resilent Weapon - While suffering from a condition or hex, ally gains +x health regen and +24 armor
Spirit Light Weapon (e) - ally gains x health each second for x seconds (but ends if target not near a spirit)
Vengeful Weapon - next time ally takes damage from foe, steals life from that foe
Weapon of Warding - +x health regen & 50% chance to block
Others:
Vital Weapon - increases max life
Weapon Of Quickening (e) - spells and ritual spells recharge 15% faster
Weapon of Shadow - ally struck by an attack, the foe is blinded
Guided I think is the best, when WoW.
